Commission Rates

May 7, 2020 / Contributors

We set up SkyStock due to the disgustingly poor commission rates we were receiving from some of the major players in the industry. We once received a commission of $0.25 and immediately removed our photos for sale. Our goal of SkyStock was to provide a better platform where we are able to find a happy middle ground between customer and contributor. SkyStock’s location search niche will hopefully lead to customers wanting to buy a specific location which cannot be provided by other stock websites.

Current commission rate is 75% on all sales!

Realistically we have only just relaunched the platform and still working hard on development. We have not started advertising yet, so we are expecting limited sales, however, would like to reward our contributors as much as possible during this relaunch period.

In the future, our planned commission rates are as follows. The idea is to reward contributors for continuing to upload more content to the platform by providing them with a higher commission rate. These lower levels won’t come into effect until we launch our partnership program:

Partnership: Extra 25% on the rates below. No cost to join the program and you help us further the platform.
Sign up: 25%
20 uploads: 30%
50 uploads: 35%
100 uploads: 40%
200 uploads: 45%
500 uploads: 50%
1,000 uploads: 55%
2,000 uploads 60%
Licensed Operator: Extra 2.5%
Insured Operator: Extra 2.5%
Example: If you upload 100 photos and are a part of our partnership program you will receive a 65% commission rate.

Note these are only proposed commission rates at this stage and are based on uploads in the last 12 months. We are open to your thoughts on how we should structure commissions in the future. Feel free to contact us to discuss.
