Winner: Barry S, 63.9% of the vote

“The photo tried to capture the solitary emptiness between destinations bringing the world to a single point. The road reaching to the horizon.

There were a few challenges with flying in the “outback”, overheating the drone, sand in everything and seeing the controls though the mandatory fly net.”

Runner up: Ben N, 36.1% of the vote

“This image was taken while searching for interesting patterns and colours from the air around deserts of central Australia. To see magpie geese this far inland was very surprising as it’s out of their normal geographical distribution and must of being on a migration path. Since I was using a powered paraglider at the time for an aerial platform I had to wait 2 days for the weather to be flyable and was only able to catch the last of the flock as they were leaving to head north. It was still a very memorable moment and something I haven’t seen or heard of happening since.”
