“My wife, daughter and I were recently driving back through this location on the way back from the Sunshine Coast, and I thought to myself that this complex freeway interchange would probably look great from the air. The following weekend, I returned to near this spot with my DJI Mavic 2 Pro.

The freeway runs over the top of a local waterway known as Enoggera Creek, which is renowned for its mosquitoes. Unfortunately, the only legal and safe take off point for this shot was right beside the creek, and as I piloted the drone, I could feel myself getting bitten by literally hundreds of mosquitoes. The bites itched for the best part of a week, but I think it was worth it.

I love capturing urban scenes, and this particular shot provided for an interesting and complex subject matter in the foreground, and the beautiful CBD area of Brisbane in the background. I plan on returning to this spot again soon to capture some night shots, hopefully they turn out as good as this shot did!”
