Sorry for the delay

The team at SkyStock would like to apologise to you, our contributors on the delays we have been having building up the platform. In short we want to say thanks for sticking with us, and that we are finally moving in the right direction.

Back story
Our original platform crashed back in 2018 due to the large amount of content uploaded to it, which was a great problem to have as people wanted to use our site. So in 2019 we went on the hunt for a new website developer to build a more robust platform for the future. We had a great team that put together a robust platform which was able to scale greatly. We released this and received a large amount of sign ups and new content. Everything was going well.

What happened?
While the platform was working well for contributors we needed to fine tune areas on the customer side of things, as there were some significant bugs. In the last few years venture capitalists have been throwing obscene amounts of money within the start-up space and we couldn’t compete for development talent to help us. We have wanted to remain self funded, rather than taking outside money and being tied to preforming for growth/profit, rather than our goal to improve the industry. So we treaded water for a few years, additionally not helped by the effects of COVID-19.

Where are we at?
The last few months of 2022 saw us make the improvements we needed, which we are still finishing off. We are very happy with the way the platform is going and future improvements to be rolled out. We have been manually processing jobs with clients, and in our next release this will be more automated to make it a better process for customers and you the contributor. Once we roll out these improvements we will do a big push marketing SkyStock (with your help) in 2023 and getting some more sales/jobs for everyone.

 

So thanks again for sticking with us during these last few lean years. There are good things on the horizon for SkyStock and for now the best thing you can do is keep spreading the word and uploading your photos/videos. More to come in the next few months.
